Jelena enjoys working at SmileSquad because the facility helps create a positive and nurturing environment. Amanda’s passion for helping families navigate the complexities of tethered oral tissues stems from both her professional and personal experiences. She understands that challenges with oral restrictions can significantly impact the early days of parenting, often adding stress to what should be a joyous time.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Amanda finds solace in creative outlets like painting and writing poetry. Her love for nature leads her to explore through hikes and travels. Moreover, Amanda is deeply committed to supporting at-risk and homeless youth, dedicating her free time to volunteer at various services and programs. Amanda is honoured and grateful to be a part of your journey. With Amanda by your side, you can trust that you are in caring and capable hands.
Currently, Michelle specializes in supporting families with littles who have tethered oral tissues (TOTs). After both her daughters went through tongue- and lip-tie releases as newborns, she has a special interest in supporting families who are going through the same thing. She has received extensive training in this area, and has worked with hundreds of families going through the process of a tongue- or lip-tie release in different clinical settings.
Michelle is committed to seeing babies as whole people, and not just at their tongue-ties! She believes that achieving better function and better feeding outcomes starts with supporting families as a whole. This is her favourite part about working as a lactation consultant! In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband and their two daughters, trying new recipes, hanging out with friends, and learning more about babies!
