If a baby tooth is lost early we may want to hold the teeth on either end of the gap in position so that they don’t drift into the empty space over time. The child drinks "sleepy juice" 10 minutes prior to initiating treatment. This medication is meant to make the child feel more relaxed during treatment and decreases the likelihood of emotional trauma. The child is awake but relaxed throughout the procedure.
